Advanced Nurse Practitioners
Our ANPs can:
Prescribe any medicine for any condition within their competence (including some controlled medicines).
They see all our Urgent on the day booked patients with undiagnosed, undifferentiated medical conditions and make treatment decisions, including ordering necessary investigations. They can refer patients to secondary care if appropriate. They undertake appropriate home visits and can sign fit notes. They have a duty GP available every day leading their team.

We have 7 reception staff, some full time and some part time, all of whom are trained to help you with appointments, repeat prescriptions , general queries and requests for home visits etc. They may, on occasions, need to ask you questions in order to help them decided who the best person is to help you.
Clinical Pharmacists
Our Team of Clinical Pharmacists are available Monday to Saturday. They are based at Boyatt Wood Surgery and will resolve day-to-day medicine issues and consult with and treat patients directly. This includes providing help to manage long-term conditions, advising those taking multiple medicines (polypharmacy) and delivering clinical advice about treatments. They will also assist with communication across a patient’s care pathway, manage medicines shortages by suggesting suitable alternatives where appropriate and assist with drug monitoring.
