From time to time senior medical students are present during a surgery. If you do not wish students to be present, your doctor will be happy to accommodate your wishes.
We have a full time minor illness nurse, two part time practice nurses and two healthcare assistants, one of whom visits the housebound elderly for healthcare screening. One of our receptionists is also a trained phlebotomist. All our nurses hold the State Registered General Nurse Qualification. Our minor illness nurse also holds an ENB Triage qualification and is a fully qualified nurse prescriber. She can be seen instead of a doctor for illnesses such as sore throats, coughs, earache, eye infections, cystitis, thrush, minor illness and emergency contraception. She is able to prescribe any medication that is needed to treat these illnesses.
Appointments for our nurses can be made by telephoning any of our appointment numbers. We have a clinical receptionist who assists the clinical team with ECGs. All of our receptionists have been trained as chaperones.
Our Practice Manager, Judi Green, has now retired after working here for over 25 years. We have an acting Practice Manager Sue Levesque who works with us on a Monday.
The rest of the week, the surgery is covered by our Management Team:
We have 8 reception staff, some full time and some part time, all of whom are trained to help you with appointments, repeat prescriptions, requests for home visits etc. All our receptionists are fully trained chaperones. They may, on occasions, need to ask you questions in order to help them to help you.
We also have district nurses, midwives and health visitors who are employed by the Clinical Commissioning Group but are attached to our practice. They work closely with the doctors to help us with patient care.
