Clinics & Services

Contraception

All our practice nurses are available for health checks when taking the contraceptive pill.

We also now have one practice nurse who is trained to fit contraceptive implants – please ask for details from reception.

If you require a contraceptive coil kindly discuss this with any doctor at your routine appointment.

Blood Pressure Service

We operate a walk-in service for patients who would like to have their blood pressure measured. There is a facility in the waiting room for you to take your own blood pressure reading. The machine will produce a printout which should be given to the receptionist who will pass it on to your doctor. If you prefer to have a member of the nursing team to take your blood pressure rather than use the waiting room facility, please make an appointment.

Immunisation – Children

The GPs recommend that all babies, children and young adults should accept the vaccinations offered by the NHS.

For up to date details of which vaccinations are offered and for what ages, we advise that patients check for details on the NHS Choices website.

Immunisation – Adults

We recommend that all adults should have a booster tetanus injection every 10 years. After a certain number of booster vaccinations, you will no longer require them. The nurse will be able to advise you on this. If you have never had a tetanus injection it is important to have an initial course of three injections.

Seasonal flu vaccinations are offered to all patients over 65 years of age and to adults and children in certain ‘at risk’ categories. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact the surgery and we will be pleased to advise you.

Other Services

We are also pleased to offer other services including:

  • Diabetic Care
  • Asthma Care
  • Heart Disease
  • Hypertension
  • Anti-Smoking
